The world famous athletic event, which involves swimming, cycling, and running over long distances, is a gruelling test of athleticism, endurance and resilience.

Speaking to MV+ after his achievement, Al-Hamdi reflected on his motivations, highlighting the importance of challenging oneself, maintaining discipline, and persevering through difficulties.

“For the past four months, I have trained six days a week without missing a session. I want to encourage others to set a goal and fight for it. The journey is never smooth—it’s full of pain, cost, suffering, sacrifice, and tears—but you have to keep believing in yourself until the end.”

Al-Hamadi expressed gratitude to his coach, Faesal Almannai, and friend, Essa Alkuwari, for their support throughout his preparation.

This marks the second time Al-Hamadi has completed an IRONMAN 70.3, having previously finished the event in Turkey in 2021 before joining Ooredoo Maldives.

“This year, I wanted to take on another challenge while holding the responsibility as CEO of Ooredoo Maldives, to demonstrate commitment, dedication, and discipline,” he told MV+.

He said his next goal is to run the full Miami Marathon in February next year.
