Parliament Investigates Sexual Assault Allegations Against Broadcom VP Fazeen

Parliament’s Committee on Independent Institutions started investigating sexual assault allegations made towards Maldives Broadcasting Commission’s (Broadcom) Vice President Mohamed Fazeen. 

A member of the parliamentary committee confirmed with MV+ that they are investigating the case. Allegations against Fazeen are made by a female employee from Broadcom. The parliamentary committee summoned him yesterday for their investigation.

Other parties related to the case have already been summoned by the committee for investigation. 

Fazeen was appointed as a member of Broadcom on 7 March 2022 and elected as the Vice President of the Commission on 19 January 2023, when the then Vice President Ahmed Gais resigned.
