Parliamentary Sitting for Today Cancelled
The parliamentary sitting scheduled for today has been cancelled due to the absence of items to be included in the agenda.
The Parliament typically holds sittings three days a week: Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, with sessions beginning at 09:00 am. When questioned by reporters about the absence of an agenda for today’s sitting, an official from the Parliament Secretariat confirmed that the next sitting will take place on Monday, December 9.
The Parliament has yet to provide an official statement regarding the cancellation.
Following the adjournment of yesterday’s sitting, Deputy Speaker Ahmed Nazim had announced that a sitting would be held the following day. While Parliament was originally scheduled to go into recess on November 30, Speaker Abdul Raheem Abdulla extended the current session until December 15.
The Parliament has not responded to further inquiries about the reasons for the cancellation.
