In line with Former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s commitment, the Pay Commission has presented a revamped pay structure for police and military personnel.

The new salary adjustments, announced by Miuvaan Mohamed, former spokesperson for the President’s Office, are set to take effect from January.

Former President Solih, during his presidential campaign in September, promised an increase in salaries for security personnel. Despite the time constraints, the Pay Commission successfully concluded its task just one day before the conclusion of the President’s five-year term.

While specific details of the revised pay structure were not disclosed by the Pay Commission, President Solih had provided a general overview of the proposed salary adjustments back in August.

According to his outline, the salary of a Constable rank policeman is expected to rise from MVR 11,000 to MVR 15,400. Similarly, personnel with a Private rank in the MNDF can anticipate an increase from MVR 11,500 to MVR 16,300 once the changes are implemented.
