PNC Postpones Internal Elections
The People’s National Congress (PNC) has once again postponed its internal elections for constituency presidents and other key positions, now rescheduling the polls for 23 November. Originally slated for 19 October, the elections had already been deferred to 9 November.
In a statement issued yesterday, the PNC explained that this latest delay in response to requests from numerous candidates. Concerns were raised that many voters may be off-island on 9 November, as President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has declared 10 November a public holiday in honour of Republic Day.

The internal elections will include votes for constituency presidents and vice presidents, as well as island president’s for youth and women’s wing. Additionally, members for the party’s steering committee will be elected.
The PNC has announced that both the voters’ list and the final list of candidates will be published on 10 November.
