During the operation, law enforcement officials seized a total of 1,085.71 grams of illicit substances. The arrests were made in collaboration with the Drug Enforcement Department and Police Intelligence. Those apprehended range in age from 18 to 39 years old.

Following their arrest, the suspects have been remanded in custody for a period of 10 days by the Criminal Court. The investigation into the case is being led by the Drug Enforcement Department, underscoring ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in the Maldives.

This operation is part of a broader initiative by the Maldives Police to tackle drug-related activities across the country. Recently, similar efforts at Maafushi Prison led to the arrest of 13 prison officers implicated in drug smuggling activities within the facility.
