Police Arrest Two Men Carrying 72 Beer Cans into Hulhumale’

Police officers on patrol detained two individuals on Saturday night after they were found carrying a cardboard box filled with dozens of beer cans into Hulhumale’ on a dinghy boat.

At 10:00 pm, the two were observed disembarking from a dinghy boat under the Reethigasmagu bridge, which connects Hulhumale’ Phase I and Phase II. The officers noticed the men carrying a cardboard box.
The individuals were identified as Bahar Uddin, 34, from Bangladesh, and Tuck Bahadur Rilamy, 34, from Nepal. According to the police, one of the suspects attempted to flee upon seeing the officers.
Both men were detained, and upon searching the cardboard box, the officers discovered 72 beer cans.
The case is currently under further investigation by the police.
Police Arrest Man in Hoarafushi for Alleged Sorcery Practice
A man has been arrested in Hoarafushi, Haa Alifu Atoll, on allegations of practising sorcery.
The police confirmed that Mohamed Abdul Kareem, 34, from Vaavu Atoll Keyodhoo, Thiburoazuge, was apprehended on Wednesday following an operation prompted by an intelligence tip-off.

After being taken into custody, Mohamed was presented before the court, where he was remanded in custody for seven days.
He is said to be a known practitioner of Rugya, a form of sorcery, on a large scale.
