Police Confirm Death Following Fall in Male’ City

The Maldives Police Service has confirmed the death of a woman who fell from the ninth storey of a building in Maafannu ward, Male’ City, last evening.

The incident occurred near the Maldives Customs office. According to police, the woman, a Maldivian national, landed on a parked pickup truck. Bystanders immediately transported her to the hospital in the truck; however, she could not be saved.

Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the fall. They have appealed to the public to respect the family’s privacy during this tragic time and to avoid sharing photos or speculative information about the incident on social media.

At this time, the cause of the fall and further details remain unclear.
