Police Destroy Seized Alcohol from Multiple Operations

The Maldives Police Service disposed of a large quantity of seized alcohol yesterday, collected during various operations across the country.
According to the police, the items disposed of included 457 branded bottles of alcohol, 490 plastic bottles, and 282 cans of beer. The disposal took place in Kaafu Atoll Dhoonidhoo.
Police stated that the alcohol came from cases already filed with the service, including items seized by the Drug Enforcement Unit, the Tourist Police, and Hulhumalé Police, in instances where no individual could be held responsible. The batch also included alcohol linked to cases where investigations had concluded.
In addition to the alcohol, police also disposed of three types of miscellaneous items: newspapers, paper boxes, and bags.
A designated committee, formed under regulations governing the disposal of seized alcohol, supervised the process.
