Police Recover Stolen Items Worth MVR 2 Million

The Maldives Police Service has announced the recovery of items valued at MVR 2 million stolen during a robbery in Malé. 

The recovery was made within 24 hours of the incident, which occurred on Tuesday. In a statement shared on X, the police confirmed that the recovered items have been returned to their rightful owner.

Accompanying the announcement, a photograph showcased some of the recovered goods, which included:

  • Over USD 3,000 in USD100 notes, along with currencies from other countries.
  • Electronics, including Apple MacBooks, cameras, lenses, and mobile phones.

The successful operation was attributed to the collaborative efforts of the Galore Police Investigation Unit and the Response and Patrol Team.

The police have not yet disclosed whether any arrests have been made in connection with the robbery. Investigations are ongoing.
