President Muizzu Departs to Huvadhoo Atoll on a Tour

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu departed on a tour of Gaafu Alifu Atoll and Gaafu Dhaalu this morning.

The President will visit four islands of Gaafu Alifu Atoll and five islands of Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll.

The President will visit Kan’duhulhudhoo, Nilandhoo, Maamendhoo and Dhevvadhoo islands in Gaafu Alifu Atoll. He is also set to visit Hoan’deddhoo, Nadellaa, Vaadhoo, Fiyoari and Rathafandhoo islands of Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll.

During this visit, President Dr. Muizzu will inaugurate the water and sanitation network service in Hoan’deddhoo. He will also meet with citizens, inquire about and address the island’s developmental needs, and meet with the Maamendhoo and Dhevvadhoo Councils to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges facing the citizens and their developmental needs.

This tour is part of the President’s 2024 pledge to engage with local councils in the atolls, islands, and cities.

The President is accompanied by Cabinet Ministers and senior Government officials on this tour.

The tour is to be completed on Thursday.
