President Muizzu Promise Development Projects and Economic Recovery in New Year’s Address
President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has declared 2025 as a pivotal year for national development, pledging the commencement of multiple projects, the restoration of economic stability, and the extension of prosperity across the Maldives.
The President made these remarks during his New Year’s address, where he conveyed his greetings and best wishes to the Maldivian people.
President Muizzu said that development is focused on achieving clearly defined goals, guided by a strategic roadmap towards becoming a developed nation. He described the upcoming year as an opportunity for both the Government and citizens to adopt new resolutions at national, community, and personal levels.
President urged citizens to embrace “positive thinking” and prioritise “peace and reconciliation” as personal resolutions for the new year. He said that national development and contentment rests on “peace, respect, and affection.”
President Muizzu also called for unity and collective action describing 2025 as a year of “responsible nation-building.”
President extended his New Year greetings to all Maldivians through his official X account.
