President Muizzu Reiterates Commitment to Manifesto Promises During Hoadehdhoo Visit

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to fulfilling the promises outlined in the Government’s manifesto, focusing on addressing the needs of island communities.
He made these remarks while addressing the residents of Hoandehdhoo Island, marking the start of a three-day visit to Huvadhoo Atoll.
President Muizzu announced that a permanent solution to beach erosion and swell wave surges in Hoandehdhoo would be achieved from this year’s budget. He also highlighted the government’s dedication to improving education and healthcare services while pledging to establish additional sports facilities on the island.
The President also noted that the government is dedicated to helping councils generate revenue, outlining plans to promote inter-island tourism as a means of increasing financial resources of councils
During the meeting, the President addressed several pressing concerns raised by the community. He assured residents that housing and road construction projects would be prioritised under this year’s Public Sector Investment Programme (PSIP). The President committed to initiating the development of Hoandehdhoo’s roads within the year, adding that the 2025 budget will prioritise housing projects on the island.
The President also committed to fulfilling the promise of developing the Hoandehdhoo road within this year.
The President stated that this year’s budget will prioritise housing projects, and Hoandehdhoo is part of the housing projects that will be included in this year’s plans.
Today, the President officially inaugurated the island’s water and sewerage project during a meeting with the residents of Hoandehdhoo Island. He also oversaw the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Government and the Bank of Maldives, paving the way for the construction of an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) on the island.
