President Muizzu Submits Nominees for Broadcom Vacancy to Parliament

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has submitted a list of ten nominees, ranked in order of his preference, to the Parliament to fill a vacancy on the Maldives Broadcasting Commission (Broadcom). 

The vacancy follows the resignation of the commission’s former Vice President, Mohamed Fazeen, in March.

The list of nominees submitted by the President includes:

1. Aiminath Shiyana – Maafannu Fathaha  

2. Ibrahim Ashraf – Vilingili Mashiveli  

3. Moosa Rilwan – Maafannu Haavilaa  

4. Ali Yoosuf – Baaranaa, Lhaviyani Hinnavaru  

5. Zeena Zahir – Athireege, Gaafu Dhaalu Gadhdhoo  

6. Ahmed Zahir – Henveiru Sandhaleege  

7. Zamath Ahmed Waheed – Mala, Gaafu Dhaalu Thinadhoo  

8. Mohamed Shameem – Henveiru Pretty Villa  

9. Shimla Ahmed – Astralge, Seenu Hithadhoo  

10. Fathimath Zaeema – Orchidmage, Shaviyani Feevah  

President Muizzu has asked Parliament to appoint a candidate from the list.

Meanwhile, the President’s Office opened applications for another Broadcom vacancy on Monday. This is to fill the seat currently held by Aiminath Ameena (Ana), whose term is set to expire in June.
