President Muizzu Supports Two State Solution in Palestine

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has expressed his commitment to support establishing an independent and sovereign State of Palestine based on the 1967 borders and to promote peace and stability in the region.
He said this during his meeting with the Ambassador of Palestine to Maldives.
The Ambassador of Palestine to the Republic of Maldives, H.E. Mr Walid A.M. Abu Ali, paid a courtesy call on Muizzu yesterday at the President’s Office.
H.E. Mr Walid A.M. Abu Ali congratulated the President on his assumption of office and sent warm sentiments on his behalf of H.E. Mahmoud Abbas, the president of Palestine.
Muizzu expressed his unwavering support and affirmed that the Maldivian people and government continue to stand behind the Palestinians in their quest for recognition and dignity. He also strongly condemned the current aggression of the Israeli military on Gaza and the Palestinian people.
The President and the Palestinian Ambassador engaged in a discussion regarding the dire circumstances in Gaza and other regions of Palestine as a result of the ongoing siege, emphasising the need for immediate ceasefire and action to rectify the situation at large.
Concluding the call, the President and the Ambassador reiterated their commitment to strengthening brotherly relations and cooperation.
