Presidential Election 2023 Updates in Numbers
Voting is currently underway in the Maldives for the 2023 presidential election. The polls officially opened at 8:00 am and are scheduled to remain accessible to voters until 4:00 pm.
This year, a total of 574 polling stations have been placed across the Maldives and five other countries to facilitate the presidential election. The first round of voting is scheduled for today, with the possibility of a second round on September 30 if required.

The eligible voting population for the presidential election stands at 282,395, including over 27,000 newly registered voters.
As of 2 PM
As of 2 PM today, Election Commission of Maldives (ECM) reported that 164,981 people have already voted, which amounts to 58.42% of eligible voters.

- Male voters: 82,798 (29.32%)
- Female voters: 82,183 (29.1%)
- Total votes cast: 164,981 (58.42%)
- Not yet voted: 117,414 (41.58%)
In terms of eligible voters, the statistics stand as follows:
- Male eligible voters: 144,199
- Female eligible voters: 138,196
- Total eligible voters: 282,395
Also, 100% of the ballot boxes have been opened, with 574 out of 574 boxes counted.
