Qasim Ibrahim’s Nomination Papers Lodged with ECM

Qasim Ibrahim, Jumhooree Party’s (JP) designated presidential nominee has formally submitted his candidacy application in anticipation of the upcoming presidential election scheduled for the following month.

The leadership of the JP convened at the Dharubaarge, where the nomination documents were presented to the Election Commission of Maldives (ECM). A gathering of supporters was also in attendance during this procedural step.
Accompanying Qasim was his spouse Aishath Nahla, who currently holds the position of Transport Minister, and his chosen running mate, Dr. Ameen Ibrahim.
In adherence to the election protocol, Qasim filed his candidacy application with the ECM, underscoring his intention to contend in the impending presidential race. The submission of the requisite forms was carried out in a formal handover process facilitated by the ECM.
Notably, the deadline for the submission of nomination forms is set for 2 pm today.
