RDC Completes Milandhoo Road Project

The Road Development Corporation (RDC) has completed its road development project in Milandhoo, Shaviyani Atoll.
The government awarded the contract to RDC on 12 March 2021 to upgrade the roads in Milandhoo, with work officially commencing on 13 August 2021. Although originally tasked with completing the project within 520 days, the initiative faced several delays along the way.

In a recent social media post, RDC confirmed that the project has now been completed and handed over to the Ministry of Construction and Infrastructure for its final inspection.
The project, valued at approximately USD 10.1 million, has seen the modernisation and tarring of eight roads, totalling 6.15 kilometres. Milandhoo, home to a population of about 2,500 residents, has faced long-standing challenges with poor road conditions, particularly during the monsoon season.
The completion of this project marks a significant milestone in addressing the transportation needs of the local community.
