Sembe Commits to Social Initiatives and Manifesto Implementation

Vice President-elect Hussain Mohamed Latheef (Sembe) has pledged a dedication to spearhead social initiatives and ensure the execution of President-elect Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s manifesto.
In an exclusive conversation with PSM Media, Vice President-elect Latheef began his Victory Day address by honouring the sacrifices made by Maldivians who lost their lives during the terrorist attacks on November 3, 1988.
He stressed the importance of equipping the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) with modern education, training, and resources to fortify their readiness for potential challenges.
Moreover, Latheef emphasised the role and obligations of the Vice President, underlining the historical emphasis on engagement within the social sector. He expressed his intent to consult with President-elect Dr. Muizzu concerning his potential involvement in social endeavours within the forthcoming administration.
He also revealed that the President-elect had entrusted him with the responsibility of spearheading national and social initiatives while overseeing the implementation of the manifesto.
Latheef also touched upon an alternate career path, expressing a readiness to contribute to sports and youth-related domains within the People’s National Congress (PNC) had he not secured his current position.
