Speaker Arrives in Uzbekistan to Attend Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union

The Speaker of Parliament, Abdul Raheem Abdulla, has arrived in Uzbekistan to participate in the 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).

The Maldivian Parliament announced that the Speaker arrived in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, today to attend the assembly, which will run from today until Wednesday, April 9.

The Speaker is accompanied by the Minority Leader of Parliament, Ibrahim Nazil from the South Hithadhoo constituency, Asma Rasheed from the Central Maafannu constituency, Dr. Anara Nayeem from the Huraa constituency, Abdulla Rifaau from the South Maafannu constituency, and Hussain Imran Latheef from the South Henveiru constituency.

Founded in 1889, the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) aims to promote inter-parliamentary dialogue and diplomacy between nations. Over the years, the IPU has established itself as a unique global platform for parliamentary networking, particularly through its Assemblies.
