Transport Minister Departs to Qatar for ICAO Conference

Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Mohamed Ameen has departed to Qatar on an official visit to attend the 2025 Facilitation Conference, organised by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
The conference is being held in the Qatari capital, Doha, from 14 to 17 April. According to the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation, Minister Ameen will participate in the ministerial segment of the conference, which is scheduled to take place on Thursday, 17 April.
The ministerial segment is expected to feature high-level discussions among ministers from ICAO member states, focusing on strategies to enhance and strengthen the global aviation industry. Minister Ameen is also scheduled to deliver an address during this segment.
A key outcome of the conference will be the adoption of the ‘Doha Declaration on Facilitation of International Air Transport 2025’. The resolution aims to outline policies that reinforce the safety and security of air travel, promote the integration of modern technologies, improve service standards, and safeguard passenger rights.
The Ministry stated that these measures reflect a continued commitment to advancing global aviation through international cooperation and innovation.
