Shortly after, the third cruiseliner, MS Riviera, arrived in Malé on Monday morning. Tourists from both ships have disembarked to explore the capital city and nearby islands.

The season’s first cruiseliner, MS AIDAstella, arrived on 8 December, bringing 2,140 passengers and 639 crew members.

Speaking to Sun, MAYA President Mohamed Nasheed stated that 14 to 15 cruiseliners are expected to visit the Maldives this season. However, Nasheed noted that the projected number of arrivals is lower than the association’s initial expectations. The season is expected to conclude in March.

Meanwhile, the Maldives recently achieved its goal of welcoming two million tourists in 2024, underscoring the country’s enduring appeal as a premier holiday destination.
