Vice President Delivers Opening Remarks At Group Meeting at Regional Blue Economy Forum

Vice President His Excellency Uz Hussain Mohamed Latheef delivered the opening remarks at a group meeting held as part of the Third China-Indian Ocean Region Forum on Blue Economy Development Cooperation.
The meeting, attended by regional leaders and Chinese government representatives, was presided over by His Excellency Mr Wang Yong, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).
In his address, Vice President Latheef expressed sincere gratitude to the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA) and the Yunnan Provincial People’s Government for their hospitality. He described China as a trusted and reliable partner of the Maldives and reiterated the country’s commitment to the One-China Principle as a cornerstone of bilateral relations.
Highlighting the significance of the forum, the Vice President emphasised the opportunity it provides for enhanced cooperation and knowledge exchange in blue economy development, a priority for many nations in the region.
Following the meeting, Vice President Latheef participated in a group photograph alongside Chinese government officials and foreign dignitaries.
