In a joint operation by Maldives Immigration and Police, four Vietnamese women and one man were apprehended for their alleged involvement in a suspected large-scale prostitution ring operating in the country.

Among the detainees, three women and the male agent reportedly resided in the Maldives on work visas. Authorities have since deported one of the women following further investigation, with efforts underway to facilitate the deportation of the remaining individuals.

The operation underscores ongoing efforts by law enforcement to address illegal activities and uphold the country’s immigration and labour laws.
