Vilimale’ Residents Won’t Need to Travel to Male’ for Healthcare, Muizzu Vows

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu assured Vilimale’ residents that they will not be compelled to travel to Male’ for healthcare services once the proposed 100-bed tertiary hospital in the district, under development by the current administration, is operational.
Ahmed Shifan, a resident of Vilimale’, highlighted the challenges faced by the community due to the subpar healthcare services provided at Vilimale’ Hospital during the ‘Raees ge Javaabu’ series on Friday. This platform allows direct interaction between the public and the President, enabling citizens to raise queries and concerns.
Shifan expressed dismay over the lack of essential healthcare services at Vilimale’ Hospital, often necessitating emergency trips to Male’.
In response, Muizzu underscored the administration’s commitment to enhancing healthcare services in Vilimale’, citing the development of a 100-bed tertiary hospital as a top priority. He disclosed that groundwork for the hospital, supported by grant assistance from China, is currently in progress. The President also confirmed the allocation of land for the hospital’s construction, noting that physical work will commence upon completion of technical preparations.
Assuring Vilimale’ residents that their concerns will be addressed upon the hospital’s completion, Muizzu reiterated his commitment to delivering a facility meeting the approval standards of the local community.
The decision to establish a 100-bed tertiary hospital in Vilimale’ was initially announced by Health Minister Dr. Abdulla Khaleel on December 27th, as part of the current administration’s healthcare development agenda.
