The launch event, held on Dharavandhoo Island in Baa Atoll, featured traditional music and dance performances by local students, highlighting the cultural vibrancy of the community.

As part of UNESCO’s Biosphere Reserve in Baa Atoll, Dharavandhoo is known for snorkelling at Hanifaru Bay, famed for manta rays and whale shark sightings, alongside authentic Maldivian hospitality.

Over the year, visitors can participate in various activities, including workshops, an underwater coral park, and cultural festivals. The campaign will also introduce a Manta Centre and guided marine tours, cooking classes, and traditional performances.

Sameeh Ali, President of the Dharavandhoo Council, expressed hope that the campaign would attract travellers seeking authentic experiences, benefitting the local economy and environment.

Focused on sustainable, community-driven tourism, Dharavandhoo Island invites both international and domestic visitors to experience its unique offerings while supporting conservation efforts.
