VP Attends the Opening Ceremony of “Paris 2024 Olympics”

Vice President Hussein Mohamed Latheef attended the Opening Ceremony of “Paris 2024 Olympics”, at the invitation of the French Government and International Olympic Committee.

On Thursday night, the Vice President met with the Maldivian contingent participating in the “Paris 2024 Olympics” and is scheduled to attend their respective competitions.

This year, five Maldivians will compete in the “Paris 2024 Olympics”, marking the country’s highest level of participation.

Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef also met with the Maldivian contingent participating in the Paris 2024 Olympics, offering words of encouragement to the local athletes competing in this year’s competition. The meeting took place at a dinner held with the athletes during his current visit to Paris, France.

The Vice President underscored the Administration’s unparalleled commitment to the advancement of sports nationwide.

This year, a record number of five Maldivians will compete in the Paris 2024 Olympics, signifying the highest level of participation from the country to date.

Fathimath Dheema Ali, a table tennis player, and Ibadulla Adam, a sprinter, were honoured with the prestigious opportunity to bear the national flag during the Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games.
