WDC Launches ‘100 Hunaruverin’ Training Initiative

The Women’s Development Committee (WDC) of Male’ City Council, in partnership with Maldives Polytechnic, has introduced a training programme named 100 Hunaruverin.

The initiative aims to empower women and young people in Male’ by equipping them with technical and traditional skills.

According to the Council, participants will receive training in areas such as electrical equipment repair, handicrafts, and sewing traditional Maldivian dresses. The WDC has committed to covering all costs associated with the programme, ensuring accessibility for all interested individuals.

Although the current iteration of the programme is scheduled to run for two weeks, the Council has indicated plans to conduct similar training sessions on a regular basis in the future.

The initiative is seen as a step in fostering sustainable skill development and expanding job opportunities for women and youth in Male’. The Council expressed optimism that the programme would enhance participants’ employability and contribute to the city’s social and economic growth.
