Weather Conditions to Improve Over the Next 48 Hours, Says MET Office
The Maldives Meteorological Service (MMS) has issued a weather advisory for the northern and central atolls, with rainfall expected today, though conditions are set to improve over the next 48 hours.

The weather forecast is valid from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm on 4th January 2025. During this period, the north and central atolls are likely to experience intermittent showers, some of which could be heavy, accompanied by thunderstorms. In contrast, the southern atolls are expected to remain generally fine, with only a few showers.
Wind speeds will range from 8 to 18 miles per hour, with gusts of up to 35 miles per hour expected during showers in the north and central atolls. Sea conditions will be moderate but may become rough during showers, with wave heights reaching 4 to 6 feet.
MMS has advised the public to exercise caution, particularly in the northern and central regions, due to the adverse weather conditions.
