President-elect Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, addressing the media, highlighted plans for women to occupy top roles in at least eight government-owned companies.
Muizzu emphasised that his administration aims to provide increased opportunities for women.
This initiative extends to three government ministries and various key positions within the mentioned companies.
Muizzu further disclosed that the Vice-Chancellor of the Maldives National University (MNU) will also be a woman. Furthermore, the position of Managing Director at the Public Service Media (PSM) will also be a woman.
He underscored the historical underrepresentation of women in managerial roles within governmental entities, citing that only two women were afforded such opportunities in previous administrations.
