Zakat House Spends Over MVR 1 Million Last Month

The Maldives Zakat House disbursed a substantial sum of MVR 1,044,989.10 for medical assistance in June 2024.

According to recently released statistics, an additional MVR 870,957.53 was allocated for aid, benefiting 107 individuals during the same period.

Key areas of assistance included cancer treatments, which received MVR 262,911.00, and brain surgery, which was allocated MVR 124,580.53. Kidney diseases saw funding of MVR 97,531.50, while heart surgery received MVR 38,164.00. Transplants were supported with MVR 25,443.00.

In addition to these major areas, MVR 322,327.50 was allocated for the treatment of various other diseases. The Zakat House also reported an expenditure of MVR 273,026.48 for the remuneration of its employees during the review month.
