Zakat Payments Reach MVR 7.6 Million in Ramadan’s First 20 Days, Ministry Reports

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs has announced that MVR 7.6 million has been received in Zakat payments during the first 20 days of this Ramadan.
According to statistics provided by the Zakat House, the total amount of Fitr Zakat paid both online and in person has reached MVR 7,623,214. This represents a significant increase compared to the same period in previous years.

In the final third of Ramadan, Zakat payments will be accepted in person every day, except on weekends, between 11 am and 2 pm.
Fitr Zakat can also be paid through various platforms, including:
- Dhiraagu: via the Dhiraagu App or Dhiraagu Pay (through website or SMS)
- Ooredoo: via mFaisaa (through application or SMS)
- MIB: via Faisa mobile (through app or Faisa Net)
- BML: via BML Mobile (through app or website)
- FahiPay: via app or website
- Finance Ministry: via Bandeyri Pay (website or portal)
Additionally, the Zakat House has confirmed that in islands outside of Male’ City, local councils will make arrangements for cash Zakat payments.
