"While studying Hospitality and Tourism Management, I realised I didn't just want to bake—I wanted to learn everything about the industry." Her extensive training and international competition experience paved the way for The Soft Peaks, a burgeoning bakery with a unique twist.

From the outset, Shai aimed to make The Soft Peaks stand out. "I knew I wanted to offer something different," she says. The mini cakes, especially her signature "adorable babies of mini cakes," have become the highlight of The Soft Peaks. "People love these cakes because they're charming and have a personal touch," Shai notes.

The positive customer feedback reinforces their success, with many praising how these cakes make special occasions even more memorable. "Knowing that my cakes bring joy to others keeps me motivated," she says. Although traditional cakes are still part of her repertoire, Shai's mini cakes truly bring her vision to life.

Quality and creativity are at the heart of The Soft Peaks. "I'm committed to using the finest ingredients and paying attention to detail," Shai says. Each cake is designed with a personal touch, reflecting her dedication to making every creation unique. Building strong customer relationships and contributing to the community are also vital values. "It's about creating connections and spreading joy through my cakes," she adds.

Running The Soft Peaks in the Maldives comes with its own set of challenges. "Finding good-quality packaging in local shops has been tough," Shai explains. Limited options mean sourcing packaging from abroad, which can be costly and time-consuming. Despite these challenges, Shai remains creative, ensuring her cakes are always beautifully presented and continually seeking new solutions.

Looking Ahead with Ambition

The future of The Soft Peaks is filled with promise. Shai hopes to expand by finding a larger space or investing in more equipment. "I want to grow the business while maintaining the quality and creativity that make The Soft Peaks unique," she says.

Shai's advice for future entrepreneurs is simple but powerful: "Follow your passion and stay true to yourself. Don't just replicate what others are doing. Trust the process, work hard, and be patient." She acknowledges that every journey has challenges but believes persistence and continuous learning lead to success.

She expresses deep gratitude for the support from her family and friends. "I am incredibly grateful to my sister, my sister-in-law, and my husband. Their encouragement has been crucial in making The Soft Peaks a reality, and I’m extremely thankful for their support," she says, acknowledging the significant role her loved ones have played in her journey.
