When Maisa was 8 years old she first started playing basketball but soon realised that it was a contact sport and she would be more prone to injuries if she took basketball as a career. She first got interested in playing badminton after her father took her to watch badminton national tournaments.
Maisa has been playing badminton for more than 13 years now. She said that her biggest achievements in her career till date is reaching quarter finals in a Badminton World Federation Circuit Tournament and winning bronze medal in the team event and mixed doubles event in Indian Island Ocean Games in 2019.
In 2017 she faced the biggest injury of her career. Maisa was training in Malaysia and one of the players jumped to smash and landed on her ankle. Her ligament was torn and she had to undergo surgery at the peak of her career. She was demotivated and disappointed because she did not know when she could play badminton again. She said that that was the downfall of her career. However with the full support from her family and close friends, she is now back on court and she believes that this surgery has in fact made her stronger and motivated to go forward and reach new heights.
