Abdulla Rasheed (Eyesee), Tourism Consultant | MV+ Exclusive
“We were talking about making a livelihood for individuals from their homes and how we can give a share of the tourism profits for families across the Maldives. But with the influence of businessmen, we saw buildings rise up and islands start to transform in an unseemly way”
In this exclusive interview with MV+, Abdulla Rasheed (Eyesee) shares his thoughts on local island tourism in the Maldives and where it went wrong for his hometown of Addu City.
Eyesee, a tourism consultant and former campaign consultant for the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP), has authored a series of books promoting local tourism, homestays, and home cooking. He is currently working on a book about island recreation.
