Meet Laiza Imad, a young mother from AA. Ukulhas, driven by a passion for Dhivehi literature. In 2021, she launched a brand of children’s educational products called “Fehi Thundu”.

“My father introduced dhivehi literature to me. My love for books comes from him – he encouraged me from a young age,” she says, adding that she wanted to introduce her own child to the richness of Maldivian culture.

Finding that the consumer market severely lacked such resources, Laiza embarked on a mission to create educational children’s books in Dhivehi.

In this interview, Laiza shares her journey to create her brand, the challenges she had to overcome and where she plans to take Fahi Thundu in the future.
